COVID-19 POLICY

Below is a list of measures I will be undertaking alongside the venues where I teach in order to start in person classes again whilst keeping everyone safe.

These may change according to the latest governmental and scientific advice.

  • The capacity of each room will be greatly reduced of that before lockdown with a maximum of 10 students per group.

  • A risk assessment will be completed for each venue.

  • The toilets will be available and are cleaned before our use but obviously not between individual uses.  Wipes and cleaning products are available to us at each venue.  Wipes will be available to clean handles and surfaces before and after use if you would like.

  • Floor markings will indicate where to place mats.  Each mat has a 2 msq allowance per person.

  • Face masks are not required whilst practicing and are optional during class but they do need to be worn when entering and leaving the building.  Most importantly a mask must be worn when in the main library building.

  • I will not move around the space nor give any physical adjustments but will remain at the front of the class giving verbal cues and adjustments.

  • Please arrive ready to practice with minimal belongings.  When entering please allow 1 - 2m between you and the next person entering and separate belongings from those of others.  Chairs will be stationed for this and sanitized before and after each class.

  • First students entering will need to go to the furthest chairs to place belongings and the furthest mat points so we fill the spaces from front to back and we will leave from back to front.

  • I will ensure sufficient time is allowed between classes to air and clean the spaces.  Both the Performance Hall at the library and the Trinity Church Hall are well ventilated and very spacious.

  • Spaces will be cleaned before and after each class with extra attention to touch point cleaning too.

Things I ask you to do

  • Pre-book classes each week and complete COVID declaration

  • Provide full contact details when booking (track and trace requirement)

  • Thoroughly wash your hands and/or sanitise upon entering and leaving. Hand gels and sinks are available.

  • Bring your own mat and any props you may need.

  • Arrive between 5  - 10 minutes before the start of each class; not before or after. Latecomers will not be admitted L

  • Do not come attend classes if you have any Covid-19 symptoms. If in doubt please refer to the NHS website here

Please remember

  • Physical activity improves health, wellbeing and immunity: all linked to decreased Covid-19 risk

  • Cancellations are possible up to 24 hours prior to each class with credit given to attend another class in person. If notice is given within the 24 hour window classes cannot be credited but a pre recorded class will be sent to you instead. This class will be available to view without expiration.
